Rocío Valín Morandeira (Lugo, 1999) studied Biology at the University of Santiago de Compostela, graduating in 2021 after completing her final degree project at the Genetics Department of the Veterinary Faculty, under the direction of Belén Gómez Pardo.

In 2022, she studied a Master of Genomics and Genetics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, carrying out the master´s final project between the Genetics Department and the Anatomy Pathology Department, under supervision of Laura Sánchez and Maribel Quiroga.

Nowadays, she has started her PhD under the direction of Laura Sánchez and Juan Rubiolo, developing models in zebrafish for the study of two genes: TANC1 (related with radiotherapy response) and NEK8 (which causes a rare disease).
