Vanesa Lombao

PhD Student

Vanesa Lombao Iglesias (Monforte de Lemos, 1984) studied Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela and earned her medical degree in 2010. She obtained her title of Specialist Physician in Family and Community Medicine in 2014 and her Childcare Physician title in 2018. She studied a master in genomics and genetics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, carrying out the master project: “Diagnostic yield of whole-genome SNP arrays and next-generation sequencing technologies in autism spectrum disorder”, directed by Dr. Inés Quintela and Prof. Ángel Carracedo, at the National Center for Genotyping (University of Santiago de Compostela). She currently combines her activity as a family and emergency physician with research about development of models of human glioblastoma in zebrafish, as an in vivo model, for the evaluation of new antitumor treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapies and nanomedicines, as a PhD student (Molecular Medicine) at the University of Santiago de Compostela, supervised by Prof. Laura Sánchez.
