MSc. Jhonathan Angel Araujo Fernández is Graduated in Biology from the National University of the Peruvian Amazon and Master in Medical Sciences from the State University of Campinas (2017). Currently is PhD student working with different low molecular weight peptides derived from natural compounds that can help in the treatment of epilepsy, with focus in patients resistant to traditional drugs, using zebrafish as an animal model. He was contemplated with a scholarship from Institutional Internationalization Program (Capes-PrInt/Brazil) to conduct his research at the ZebraBioRes Research Center of University of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. During the internship, he intends to learn all the stages (staining, distribution and excretion) that are involved in the biodistribution of his compounds and test other compounds that act in oxidative stress, inflammatory and apoptosis pathways.
